Buccaneer Blogfest - About Me

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Buccaneer Blogfest. I'm so excited that we have so many people on board and I'm looking forward to getting to know you. So now I'll tell you a little bit about me...

I'm Sharon Bayliss, an author/mom/social worker. My debut novel, The Charge, will be published by Curiosity Quills Press this year. In addition to being an author, I work as a tobacco cessation counselor and as social media marketing coordinator for Curiosity Quills. I've got a lot on my plate, but all my jobs are very cool so I'm doing my best to make it work.

My life can get stressful, but overall, I'm deliriously happy. I am married to a sexy, nerdy biology teacher/running coach and have a (mostly) sweet 2 1/2 year old son who loves jumping on the bed and playing chase 24/7. I have another son on the way as well, due August 27th! I've lived in Austin, Texas all of my life and love eating Tex-Mex, drinking margaritas (when I'm not pregnant), and being outdoors.

You can also find me here:

If at any point throughout the fest you have questions about anything, feel free to post them in comments on my blog or use the Contact Me form. I'm happy to help!

Have fun!

  11. Two years olds are adorable in photo's right? They're frozen in time then! LOL. It was good to learn more about you. I was a drug abuse counselor for a time myself, then shifted to a family counselor. May this blogfest do all you wish it to!! Roland

  13. My bestie lives in Dallas. And I don't know how many times I have traveled through Austin and stopped over night there while traveling to Mexico.

And, I have a character in one of my books named Austen. He's a surgeon on a convict ship...

I loved learning these little pieces of info about you. Neat!
Thanks for hosting the blogfest. Already, it's been great!

  14. I loved getting to know more about you. I absolutely love Austin (how could anyone not). Tex -Mex is my favorite food. This is a really cool blogfest or bloghop. I was late signing up. I signed up tonight and I have my first post almost ready to go, but I feel like an idiot because I cannot figure out how to add photos (your pirate badge) to my daughter's mac. I still use a pc, most of the time. So, I am planning to post my fist writing prompt assignment tomorrow evening. Sorry for the delay. I just learned about the blogfest, but I promise to catch up.

We are in Lindale Texas for a couple of days. We are going cliff diving and then to Canton for the kids to ride the fast and scary Zip-line. I will play catch up later this week. I am excite to be a part of this fun event .
