Personal Writing Goals for 2014 #JFW

I found a blog hop that looked like a good way to energize my blogging for the new year.

From the hop:

“If you are a writer, you are invited to participate in a blog hop from January 13 – March 24, 2014. Please post on Mondays, every second week, on the themes given below. Once you’ve posted on your own blog, you will come back here and link in so other people can be introduced to your blog.”

January 13 – Personal Writing Goals for 2014

January 27 – Writing Tools I Use

February 10 – Character Sketch of My Hero

February 24 – Advice I’d Give a Newbie Writer

March 10 – My Favourite Genre

March 24 – My Current Work-in-Progress

So, lets get started! For my first post I'll be writing about my writing goals for 2014. Now, I do have goals for 2014, namely I want to publish the first TWO books in The December People Series. However, in 2014, it's more important to me to embrace a new writing attitude.

My husband's running club, Rogue Running, has a new slogan. JFR. It means, "Just F***ing Run." Although very simple, and rather rude, I think it's great advice. It basically means, don't make it complicated, don't make excuses, just do it. And, it works great for writing too.

So, that's my goal for 2014. JFW.

Don't have time? JFW
Should really clean the house? JFW
Tired? JFW
What if I suck? JFW
What if no one buys my books? JFW
What should I do for marketing? JFW
Have I made the right choices? JFW
Infinite other issues. JFW

So, there you have it. Now, it's time for me to J...F...W!!!!

  1. Hi Sharon! Welcome to the blog hop - so glad you've decided to participate. I agree with your new attitude, that you really just have to sit down and write. It's so easy to procrastinate, but as a best-selling author and writing coach once said to me, it's a lot easier to edit a page of writing than a blank page, so sit down and fill it up! Best wishes as you pursue your writing goals for 2014.

  2. Sharon, I'm glad you've joined the blog hop. I agree, as writers we often make excuses instead of just sitting down and writing. Best wishes on your goals.

  3. Glad to meet you on the Blog Hope, Sharon. Several participants have words for the year and yours is a whole phrase. I guess it comes down to focus. My word for this year is 'Share' - share the information and the love for one another.

  4. LOL! My theme was "Just say yes!" --As in you never know what can happen when you embrace a ridiculously positive attitude. Here's to an EPIC 2014!

  5. Awesome! Congratulations - a great plan, a positive attitude, and success all around!

  6. Ha! I'll keep this in mind to help me stay motivated!

  7. It's really a nice and useful piece of info. I'm satisfied that you simply shared this useful info with
us. Please keep us up to date like this. Thanks for sharing.부산오피

Congratulations Sharon for picking up the pen and doing what you actually want to do. I am also into writing and can understand how much happiness a person gets when he starts to write with all his heart. Even though my writing is associated with my profession as well because I provide Health Care Dissertation Writing Services but still I love to do what I do.

  9. I appreciate the time and effort you took into putting everything together, I like your way to write blogs, it can help me in my studies.
